The Wattis livestreams a radiocast produced at a bar in São Paulo by the Animalia project, a sensorial experiment performed by members of the Brazilian LGBTQ+ community. Animalia performs in real time in São Paulo, responding to the musical set created by those interacting with Cinthia Marcelle: A morta. This event is co-hosted by Casa Chama and aarea.co.

Launched in 2016, the Animalia project explores the intersections between image, sound, and performance through projections, DJ sets, dance, body installation, and other interventions. With an apocalyptic aesthetic and an interactive framework, Animalia champions strangeness, deconstruction, dystopia, and the movement of bodies as the chief means of social coexistence by spreading its energy through dance floors, stages, theaters, and the Brazilian streets.

Casa Chama is a plural and fluid LGBTQIAP+ cultural care association dedicated to creating more spaces for research, discussion, and action for transgender communities in São Paulo.

aarea.co is an online platform founded in 2017 to showcase artworks created specifically for the internet. Each edition presents a single project, in which the featured artists have been challenged with creating a work whose only vehicle is the internet, most doing so for the first time. aarea’s activities extend beyond its website, promoting a broad public program in partnership with other institutions, presenting curatorial projects, seminars, and talks from a post-digital perspective.

This event is presented on the occasion of Cinthia Marcelle et al.: A morta on view through January 18, 2020.
