This event brings together two artists, two exhibitions, and two approaches to making sculpture. In a conversation moderated by Dan Nadel, Vincent Fecteau and Kathy Butterly discuss their work in the context of Fecteau's current exhibition at the Wattis and Butterly's exhibition at Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at UC Davis.

Kathy Butterly (b. 1963, Amityville, NY) lives and works in New York. Her ceramic sculptures are in the collections of museums around the world such as Art Gallery of New South Wales, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Portland Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Detroit Institute of Arts, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Fine Arts, Carnegie Museum of Art, and the de Young Museum.

Vincent Fecteau (b. 1969, Islip, NY) lives and works in San Francisco. Recent solo exhibitions have been organized at Secession in Vienna (2016), Kunsthalle Basel (2015), Art Institute of Chicago (2008), and Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archives (2002), among others. His work was featured in the 2002 and 2012 Whitney Biennials in New York and the 2013 Carnegie International in Pittsburgh.
