July 2 –
July 23, 2020
The films of Trinh T. Minh-ha are on our mind. Over the next month, we watch and research Trinh’s films as part of our year-long research season devoted to the work of the filmmaker, writer, theorist, composer and professor.

Every Thursday, we host a viewing party to screen one of Trinh’s films, and we share materials that help us understand and appreciate it, whether a passage from a piece of literature, a video clip, or a text that addresses Trinh’s work directly.

As we watch, we have a live discussion about how our research relates to the film and highlight points of interest. Viewers are invited to join the discussion in the live chat or simply watch. Through our conversation, we identify motifs that carry us to the following week’s film.

This is an ongoing program in our year-long season dedicated to the questions posed by the work of Trinh T. Minh-ha and how they address art, culture, and society today.
