. . . David Hammons is on our mind: Tongo Eisen-Martin and friends
David Hammons has spent a lot of time with poets over the years. Darius James, Steve Cannon, Ben Okri, the late John Farris, to name a few.

San Francisco poet Tongo Eisen-Martin spends a lot of time with other poets. For this event, he brings together his community of peers for an evening of poetry and performance.

This event features performances by poets Josiah Alderete, Tongo Eisen-Martin, Raina Leon, and Andrea Murphy, and music by Lewis Jordan and Akinyele Sadiq.

P.S. Wherever John Farris went he could seduce the bartenders to give him free drinks. Everywhere he went, he’d sit at the corner of the bar and hold court.(David Hammons)

Curated by Juana Berrío. Special thanks to Kevin Killian.

This is the seventh event in our year-long season about and around the work of David Hammons.

Readings begin at 7 pm
