Ken Lum’s large and complex body of work has included performances in public spaces, sculptures produced from rented furniture, paintings of incomprehensible language, and works that mimic the signage in low-end strip malls. Within these varying forms, he has focused on the construction of identity in public and private arenas, engaging with the conditions that shape our lived experience and position us as social subjects.
