A limited-edition print from the exhibition More American Photographs at the CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art in San Francisco, CA, Collier Schorr's Young Rider portrays a young cowboy at the threshold of manhood, his adolescent fragility still palpable. Schorr's photographs often look at gender construction, youth, and role playing.

As a part of this exhibit, which commissioned twelve photographers to travel the country and document the land and its people in the tradition of the Depression-era Farm Security Administration, Schorr's work present two visions of America that exist simultaneously: the privileged desire for fame and fortune meets with its underbelly, the imminent drive for survival.
