Reality Check: Painting in the Exploded Field presents works from the Vicki and Kent Logan Collection that test both the limits and limitations of painting in a digital age. Infected by the ever-changing surfaces of advertising, album graphics, computer games, and animated cartoons, they engage in a high-energy semiotic sampling. Freely associating between abstraction and representation, the conscious and the unconscious, fantasy and reality, these works ultimately celebrate (and challenge) the persistent dilemma that is painting.
